Malabu oil deal goes dirty, top CAC official killed over $1.092b

- The Malabu oil deal scandal has continued to evolve in Nigeria with successive governments in power
- This time, with the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, reviving the issue, more dirty secrets are being unearthed
A top official of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Abubakar Umar, has been reportedly murdered over the probe into the controversial $1.092 billion Malabu oil scandal involving some past government officials of Nigeria.

The revelation was made on Wednesday, 14 December by CAC’s head of compliance, Justin Ndia, who was speaking before the House of Representatives ad hoc committee on the alleged corruption, malpractices and breach of due process in the award of Oil Prospecting Licence OPL 245, Hon Razak Atunwa.
According to Sahara Reporters, Umar was in charge of the Malabu brief, but was brutally murdered.
